Greentown 2-8 Man Utd

Manchester United recorded a massive 8-2 win over Chinese side Hangzhou Greentown in the club's last game in their Asian tour.

First Half

The away side settled into the game early and were clearly attempting to show some serious intent as the new season approaches.

United's first goal came from new signing Michael Owen, who scored his third goal in four matches for the club after 24 minutes when he slotted in from close range, after some good work on the right hand side from Portuguese winger Nani.

The Red Devils' second came from Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov, who struck a sweet volley from close range into the corner of the net after a goalmouth scramble.

They made it three just a minute later and it became obvious that they were about to run away with the game.

Zoran Tosic scored number three, after Berbatov's back heel found the young Serbian winger and he slotted home.

The first half scoring was complete when Owen grabbed his second of the game, latching onto Berbatov's through ball and hitting a well-struck half-volley into the corner of the net. It was 4-0 as the two sides went to the break.

Second Half

The second half began much as the first had, with the Red Devils dominating possession, and it didn't take them long to score their fifth goal, just five minutes into the restart.

The scorer this time was Nani, who rounded the 'keeper and slid the ball home to give his side a unassailable five-nil lead.

The inevitable sixth soon followed when substitute Ryan Giggs hit a superb strike to put the result beyond Hangzhou.

Ten minutes later and Giggs had nabbed his second of the game, with a delicate chip over the 'keeper after he found himself through on goal.

There was some consolation for the home side ten minutes from time, however, when Hangyou headed in after United failed to deal with a corner.

The home side then sent their fans wild by grabbing a second late on, before Giggs scored his third to complete his first ever hat-trick for the Red Devils.

The match signals the end of the Red Devils' Asian tour, and they will now travel to Germany to take part in the Audi Cup, where they will face a much sterner test against Boca Juniors on Wednesday.
